All you guys complaining about Wren need to chill. To echo SoFlo, trust the staff. Kirby has said multiple times that the one thing you cannot teach is speed. And 4.3 40 is really **** fast.

Speed kills. I don’t care if he’s a 3 star. Give him 18 months with Cortez Hankton and I’m confident he’ll be just fine.

    4.3 vs 4.4 = .9 yards in 40 Dash or 2 feet 8 inches
    4.3 vs 4.5 = 1.8 yards or 5 ft 5 inches

A guy running a 4.5 40 yard dash runs 38.2 yards in 4.3 seconds, while the guy running the 4.3 runs 40 yards. So on a 40 yard fly route with no bumps, no fakes, no changes in direction, the guy running the 4.5 is 5.4 feet behind the guy running the 4.3.

    Makes a big difference

As I said before, I'm not saying the coaches don't know what they are doing. I'm just kinda shocked at how everyone is absolutely convinced that a guy they hadn't even heard of a week ago(to be fair perhaps longer as I heard the name in passing a month or so ago) is now the steal of the national recruiting scene and a certain star.

If he signs I'll welcome him and pull for him to do well. I won't be expecting him to play as a freshman and I certainly won't be throwing out Tyreek Hill comps. Frankly it's unfair to compare him to Mecole, a former 5* with touchdown catches in the SEC and NFL draftee.

I already apologized for raining on peoples' parades and I'm moving on from WRs. Just watched Caleb Williams' highlights as Jeff mentioned him and Coach Donnan raved about him as much as Sewell the other day. I like him.

PS: I hope Wren IS good. I just don't see it as the sure thing genius move as some but I LOVE watching good skill players so it's not like I'm rooting against the guy. I can come off as contrarian but that doesn't equal me wanting guys to fail or coaches to get fired. I kinda enjoy seeing the Dawgs win as much as the next guy.

Just watched tape on Henning and wren. We have plenty of guys that can do what Henning can do. Can’t think of one on the team with wren’s potential. Wren looks shifty, physical, and lightning fast. Roster management is really important. Trust the coaches. They are way better at evals then any of us. Not saying Henning wouldn’t be a take. Henning is currently a better wide receiver but Wrens ceiling is higher.
Long story short, I don’t see Wren as a last resort. Personally, I prefer Wren. Both are great players. We should be happy with either.

Hopefully Wren can have a Percy Harvin/Trindon Holliday type role in our offense

@Ugadawg1993 hope he’s a little more durable than Percy Harvin was.

@SoFL_Dawg So we're expecting news (good or bad) from Burch soon? I know he's been very quiet.

@FirePlugDawg and @sarcean I dont see the terms which factor in football pads in your calculations extra weight + drag, etc. Lets be precise, this is math not football anymore.
