Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

To add to this point, I read earlier this year that Evans has stated himself that he doesn’t love football. He sees football as a means to an end. A kid with this mindset probably isn’t as enamored with large crowds and passionate fans.
I think alone time, focused on him, what he can get out of UGA (especially post career) and NFL prep as an RB is what’s most important and would pay the most dividends.
Is that not a red flag?
Not imo, probably a third of these guys don’t love the game but they’re really good at it. It’s just their job. Most of us do jobs we don’t love, and perform well at them.
Knowshon was another who didn’t love football. Didn’t stop his passion and impact on the game; he’d rather be playing b-ball though.
Good point. I'd think if otherwise equal, a guy who loves the game would get the nod for that final scholarship, no?
Yeah but he has no equal on our target list at his position. I think it’s him or the spot is given to another position coach. This also assumes he still feels the same way about us. If he doesn’t, we’re still golden regardless.
No its gives realism to the person. If a 16/17 year old realizes that something he does isnt out of love but a job then he will max out the potential of that until he goes towards his love. How many of us worked jobs we hated until we got to what we loved (or even liked more).
I listened to a podcast with Arian Foster and he was the same type of guy. Means to an end. Just a platform. I thought it was strange the first time I head about it but apparently it's not uncommon.
Yeah, makes sense in the fact that the guy who loves the game might put in more time in the film room, weight room, whatever, but extra work only gets you so far. When you've got it, you've got it. Sounds like Evans does.
*Off topic- Lol. I was just talking to old HS friends about this topic. I was naturally gifted as a athlete but Im also 5'6. We just discussed all the various limitations on a person whether motivation, health, measurables, talent, etc. I think he will get by on talent and work ethic and motivation to win
Saw on Instagram that Darnell Washington is considering moving his commitment date up to 12/12. Was wondering if anyone can verify this, was posted by an extremely unreliable source
This used to aggravate the total mess outta me. The kids that LOVED the games... they worked SO much harder in all aspects of the game... pre practice, post practice, weights, film... all of it. Then some dudes show up and just are a different cat. You want to channel the two of them together to make a perfect football Frankenstein monster, but you can't.
And the dudes who love it??? Mostly get missed. We become coaches.
Dudes just good?? In my experience, they go off to college and some make it and some don't.
The real challenge is finding the guy who is good AND loves the game. Those are rare unicorns. Those are the guys that are playing on Sundays...
Have to love where we stand if he decides he doesn't want to take all of his officials and just get it over with early.
Perhaps but as it's been said, it's Sewell or bust.
Sorry if I missed this but...
I heard the PSU coach Franklin say he had a commit announcing this week. My thought was he was talking about TJ. TJ pushed his back. Did PSU get another one? I couldn’t find one anyplace.
