Ryan wants to go somewhere that offers him a scholarship out of the gate. Kansas is now one of the bigger schools that have done that up to this point.
Yeah, that doesn’t surprise me. When I looked at his profile, I was surprised that he didn’t have more offers from major universities, was hoping he was a big enough Dawg fan to give it a year as a walk-on.
Does he have offers from elsewhere. Surely some team could use a great kicker and is willing to offer a scholarship. Do we get people from Colquitt since Propst has been there. He's buddies with Pruitt.

“Georgia has been very good in recruiting South Florida the past decade, and that will only improve under Hartley. Not just in the south part of the state though, Hartley has been very good in South Georgia and North Florida as well. Here is a couple of 2020 guys it could really help with.
Hartley was the lead recruiter while at Miami for five-star defensive back Fred Davis. The two have an excellent relationship and that will improve Georgia's chances with Davis. Ohio State is also near the top of the list for Davis, but the hire of Hartley definitely helps the Bulldogs here.
Georgia has zeroed in on Arik Gilbert as it's top tight end target in the class of 2020. Hartley had already landed a tight end at Miami for the class of 2020. Dominic Mammarelli is the No. 6 ranked tight end nationally, and the two have a very good relationship. If Georgia elects to take two tight ends in the class, keep an eye on this name.
Jacksonville was an area Hartley was very involved with. A couple names in that area are Rivals250 offensive tackle Jalen Rivers and four-star defensive end Chantz Williams.
Rivals100 WR Leonard Manuel is another prospect Hartley is very familiar with. Not sure if he was the lead guy there, but he was involved. Georgia is in the top three for Manuel, so every little bit helps there.”
“Todd Hartley’s name had been rumored as a candidate to join Kirby Smart’s offensive coaching staff. Monday morning, the move was made official as the Georgia graduate was named the Bulldogs’ new tight end coach.
A native of Gray, Ga., Hartley served as the University of Miami’s special teams coordinator and tight ends coach for the last three seasons.
"We expect Todd to be a great fit back at Georgia,” Smart said in a statement. “He worked with the team while he was in school at UGA until he graduated, then returned to our program for another year later in his career in a separate role. So there is no doubting his allegiance and excitement about returning to join the Bulldogs. Todd has proven himself as an excellent position coach and as a top-notch recruiter, and we look forward to his return to Athens."
During his tenure with the Hurricanes under head coach Mark Richt, Hartley coached tight end David Njoku before he was taken in the 2017 NFL Draft as the 29th overall pick. and also guided tight end Christopher Herndon as he was drafted in the fourth round for the 107th overall pick in last year’s NFL Draft. Njoku exploded for 698 receiving yards and eight scores during his final year with Miami.
Known as a solid recruiter, Hartley signed tight end Brevin Jordan out of Las Vegas, who was ESPN.com’s top-ranked tight end in the 2018 class and No. 20 on the 2018 ESPN 300 list. Jordan finished his first season as an All-ACC second team selection after hauling in 32 passes for 287 yards and four touchdowns.
“I’m very thankful to Coach Smart for giving me and my family the opportunity to come back home,” said Hartley, who was recently named to the “35 under 35” list by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) 2019 Coaches Leadership Institute. “I’m honored to be the tight ends coach at my alma mater, a program which has become one that competes for national championships annually. I’m fired up to put that ‘G’ back on my chest, and I’m ready to get to work!”
As Special Teams Coordinator for the Hurricanes, Hartley led kicker Michael Badgley to All-ACC First Team honors. Badgley became Miami’s all-time leader in career field goals made and points scored during his final year in 2017.
In addition, punter Justin Vogel averaged a career-best 43.8 yards per punt, which ranked 21st nationally, under Hartley’s leadership while Braxton Berrios’ average of 11.3 yards per punt return were the 11th-most in the country.
Hartley arrived in Miami after serving as Georgia’s Director of Player Personnel in 2015. He accepted his coaching post with the Hurricanes at the end of that season. Before his return to Georgia, Hartley spent four years at Marshall serving in a variety of roles, including tight ends and safeties coach, as well as recruiting coordinator from 2011-14.
At Marshall, Hartley coached punter Tyler Williams to First Team All-Conference USA honors and tight end Eric Frohnapfel to C-USA and honorable mention All-Conference USA honors, making it the fourth straight year he coached at least one all-league student-athlete.
His Marshall punting unit tied for first in the league in average (43.23) while his kickoff return unit ranked second in the league with a 24.61-yard average. Kickoff return man Deandre Reaves totaled 931 return yards, breaking his school record of 924 from 2013. His extra-point/field goal unit set school records in extra points made (83) and kick points (133).
Prior to the season, his recruiting class was ranked as the best in Conference USA by various recruiting services by a wide margin, and among the best within the Group of Five.
In 2013, Hartley mentored Gator Hoskins, a two-time John Mackey Award Watch List honoree who secured a spot on the award’s semifinalist list as a senior. A Third Team CollegeSportsMadness.com All-American and First Team All-Conference USA selection, Hoskins finished his career with 28 touchdowns on 99 receptions totaling 1,318 yards.
Hartley originally joined the Bulldogs as a student assistant at the end of the 2005 season. He worked with the offense and special teams until the spring of 2008, while he was an undergraduate.
Georgia had an 11-win season and tallied three bowl victories during Hartley’s years working with the Bulldogs, including a 41-10 rout of No. 10 Hawaii in the 2008 Sugar Bowl. He was instrumental in preparation of the Georgia defense for the 2009 Independence Bowl at a time when only one full-time defensive assistant was on staff.”

“who are the top RB targets in the 2020 class for UGA? Some are pretty obvious and this will be a national deal with Georgia like in the past. Zachary Evans (Tx) and Kendall Milton (Cali) are the top two RB’s that most know about. One name I will give you that I am told really likes UGA and they are also sky high on him as well is Five-Star Marshawn Lloyd of Maryland. Georgia was up there again last week checking in on him. I expect him on campus sooner than later. UGA will work to sign two in the 2020 class and it will be a national search again to find the fit they want.”
“On Monday, Georgia announced the hiring of Todd Hartley as tight ends' coach. Dawgs247 has learned that Hartley will hit the road today to see the Bulldogs' newest target for the 2019 cycle.
Even with 35 offers already in hand, Brett Seither (Clearwater, Fl./Clearwater Central Catholic) saw his recruitment surge last week when offers came in from Georgia, Penn State, and Alabama. Dell McGee checked in on the 6-foot-5, 228-pound prospect during that time. Seither let Dawgs247 know that he expects Hartley to see him Monday and the Warwick, Md. native revealed he was not surprised at all by the news.
"He had told me a week ago it was a good chance he would be going there so that’s why I started to set up a visit with Georgia," Seither said.
Coming off an official visit to Georgia Tech last weekend, Seither has two official visits left, with Michigan State hosting him last June and TCU in December. It appears the arrival of Hartley has helped the Bulldogs' chances.
"That is big time," Seither said. "I have a relationship with him from when he was at Miami. He's a great guy, great coach, and a great recruiter. That helps Georgia big time."
With the departure of Isaac Nauta to the NFL and Luke Ford to Illinois, Georgia is down to just three scholarship tight ends - junior Charlie Woerner, freshman Luke FitzPatrick, and signee Ryland Goede. Seither, who camped at Georgia last summer, is listed on the industry-generated composite as the nation's No. 43 tight end prospect and second-best uncommitted tight end. He caught 42 passes for 630 yards and six touchdowns as a senior after catching 12 passes for 171 yards and three touchdowns his junior season.”
“Schley County had UGA staffer Dan Lanning back at their school on Monday to check in on Zykeivous Walker. Scott Fountain watched him play basketball on Friday night. Walker is a major target for UGA in the 2020 class. He continues to grow and has reached the 260 pound mark I am told. He most likely will be a defensive lineman and a very athletic one on the next level. Kid may be 280 pounds by this time next year and I mean that in a good way.”

Ahead of the 2018 season, four-star Class of 2020 defensive back Lejond Cavazos announced his commitment to the Ohio State Buckeyes over Georgia, LSU, Oregon, and Alabama during the Rivals Five-Star Challenge in Atlanta.
By the end of the year, the Buckeyes would go through a head coaching transition, and the 6-foot-2, 192-pound safety out of IMG Academy would start his recruitment from scratch.
"It definitely put my mind in a bind, but I knew it was going to happen. Coach [Urban] Meyer told me before everything happened. He truly was a good coach to me," Cavazos said. "He was more than a coach, though. He was a family friend. I've known him my whole life, and my dad has known him for twenty or thirty years. We've known him, and we've had the relationship established. When he told me he was going to resign, I knew I had to do what was best for me and my family. So I opened it back up. I'm going to give everyone an equal opportunity."
The Bulldogs, however, will certainly not be playing from behind, despite some coaching turnover of their own.
"The relationship with Georgia is just getting stronger and stronger. Coach [Mel] Tucker left, and he was a good coach. He recruited me a lot, but I wasn't going to trip over him leaving," Cavazos said.
Coaches in Athens seem to have at least hinted at the possible replacement to the young defender.
"Whoever they're bringing in might be good for a lot of DBs, I'm telling you. I'm going to wait it out and see, and they'll have to have someone for this upcoming spring and season," Cavazos said. "I'll build that relationship then."
In the meantime, one of the Bulldogs' ace recruiters has been on the case.
"I talk to Coach [Dell] McGee all the time. He's a really cool dude, and he's been my main recruiter. He was always down at IMG recruiting Trey [Sanders] and Noah [Cain], so he'd always mess with me," Cavozos said. "He's cool. He doesn't really act like a coach. He treats you like he already has you, or he's a friend. I really mess with that."
Having a few close confidants on the roster should be a boost, as well.
"It's just the relationship with the players. My relationship with the Georgia players is that I'm close with a lot of them, and especially with Nolan [Smith] going there," Cavazos said. "It's really big to me. I talk to him all the time, and he's like a big brother. I know I can talk to him, and he'll tell me what's really going on. I can get the real rundown, aside from what I hear from recruiters trying to get me there."
Looking ahead, expect to see the much sought-after Cavazos on the recruiting circuit.
"I'll definitely see LSU, Alabama, and Georgia," he said. "I'm not going back up to Ohio State this spring, because I've been there so many times. It's just a waste of a visit to get back. I'm trying to get out to Oregon. I don't know which others I'll get to for sure, but I've got those locked in."
According to 247Sports, D Wright is also deciding between Georgia and North Carolina for a January 25th official visit.
