Hey folks - as a member of the DawgNation community, please remember to abide by simple rules of civil engagement with other members:
- Please no inappropriate usernames (remember that there may be youngsters in the room)
- Personal attacks on other community members are unacceptable, practice the good manners your mama taught you when engaging with fellow Dawg fans
- Use common sense and respect personal differences in the community: sexual and other inappropriate language or imagery, political rants and belittling the opinions of others will get your posts deleted and result in warnings and/ or banning from the forum
- 3/17/19 UPDATE -- We've updated the permissions for our "Football" and "Commit to the G" recruiting message boards. We aim to be the best free board out there and that has not changed. We do now ask that all of you good people register as a member of our forum in order to see the sugar that is falling from our skies, so to speak.

I down voted you, but my take is irrelevant at this point. I don't think the panic was manufactured.
I didn't dv you but I can't figure out your point. Are you saying China uses cover-ups and disinformation to advance their own interests? Did you need a NY Times article for that? Of course they do. So does Russia. So does the US. Along with every other country that has the capability.
I DV’d because it sounds like the arguments that conspiracy theorists have been pushing since the start. First the whole thing was a <insert political party here> hoax, then they questioned why social distancing was even necessary, then it was a media conspiracy, etc etc etc, and now we need to open back up ASAP because <insert inane reason here>. It’s funny because for the most part it’s been the same people moving the goalposts every time they’ve been proven wrong along the way. Big sigh.
Wholeheartedly agree. There’s a commonality with the large outbreaks in major population centers.
Then there’s the public. I’m sitting in a Public parking lot in Atlanta right now. I see 5 empty parking spots. Home Depot is packed at all times. Mass transit is still running every where. Every neighborhood has most of the kids playing together. The business shutdown of restaurants and bars was the most no sensical move during this whole crisis. We haven’t isolated anyone. All we’ve done is harm business owners and their employees. The slowed spread was from some people just using their heads, which could have been accomplished without the Govt beat down.
guys, jesus is coming back soon. I think yaledawg and bankwalker are agreeing on something
@Kasey WOW!!! My goodness gracious, I am really preparing now.
Let's see if it holds.
With a White Russian....
For what it’s worth, I drive from LaGrange to Columbus every day for work. Since this pandemic became public, the few cars on I185 average going between 85 and 95 because I have not seen – not even ONE – law enforcement on the Interstate….. That changed today. I’m not sure why but there were about 3 times as many vehicles on the Interstate and I saw 2 State Patrol cars (in the median) and another county law enforcement. Not only that, I noticed many more cars on the roads in Columbus area overall.
I suspect we haven’t really agreed. All of the things I listed are on a local level.
This virus escaping China, and the Chinese covering it up knowing that they could use it to their advantage. That's hardly a conspiracy at this this point.
Agree. What's the point? Govts. lie? Not exactly "breaking news"
So what are we going to do with 29,000,000,000doses of hydroxychloroquine
Use it for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis patients?
Unbiased reporting is not FOX News or CNN. It is places like FiveThirtyEight or better yet, reading what the scientists and experts say. Not saying you disagree with that, I'm sure you don't. What I am saying is we all have to get beyond the news and go read the facts ourself. Everything I have posted on here, I have checked on more than one source to confirm its accuracy. One has to these days.
Gray, there is no political agenda by anyone posting facts about Covid19's escalation in the US. In my long, long post, I cited great action by leaders in both political parties. I also highlighted evidence that should be concerning to anyone about our president's response before March 13th. I personally feel that the response to Covid19 has nothing to do with liberal or conservative politics. It is simply good management and leaders from both political parties have demonstrated this and failed in this.
If I were to say Trump stinks or Trump rules, that would be political and an agenda. If I say that certain actions helped or hurt us address Covid19 and I don't omit or overweight the information from one angle or another, I believe I am being American. Why? Because America is divided. We literally are about darn ready to kill each other. We need to have places where we can talk about the facts of Covid19 and it not be political and it not be an agenda.
Just because someone presents a different perspective from you doesn't mean they have an agenda. It means you haven't been exposed to the information they are sharing. The same is true for me.. I have said on this thread that we are poort at discussing things as a nation with those who see things differently because we have insulated ourselves within our own views and shut off exposure to other perspectives and information. This forum brings all of us Americans with lots of different perspectives together. It isn't easy, but democracy never has been. But I choose sharing and hearing different perspectives and information (not agendas!) as that is what makes us a better country, united, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
I wouldn’t exactly say that Chinese govt falls in line with all the other govts normal “lies”. Kinda comparing apples and oranges when one country’s “lie” involves shutting off all internet and phone communications to a large city and “disappearing” hundreds of objectors to their narrative.
Well said 👏. I dont watch cable news because it riles me up and I'm less happy afterwards. This thread has done the same and I'm as much to blame as anyone. I am glad people in our country have differences of opinion and are passionate about what they believe in. I would hate to see what our country was like if that were not the case. Free people aren't mindless drones and I thank God for that.
This thread has provided a lot of great information in it and provides many different perspectives. Thank you for your participation and insight. I hope you and yours are safe and healthy... and that you find a way to close that big sale!
Okay. But that's not what the referenced article was about.
