The bottom line with Diaz as far as I'm concerned is, he has closed a lot of games and only blown a few saves over the past 2 years. I'll be tickled if he averages 4 bad outings to 41 very good outings if we sign him. After all, if you lose by 10 runs or 1 run it still only cost 1 game. If you lose 10 games by 1 run, you still lose all 10 games.
Yup
There will be winners and losers when the change goes into effect.
And they will change it. Might take 10 years...or if the Yankees lose a big game because of a missed strike call it will get changed right away. But its changing.
Looks like all the Syndergaard talk might be moot.
When we picked up Stroman I think the writing was on the wall he was staying. He wasn’t leaving unless we got bowled over. No one bowled us over
A more directly applicable comparison between Diaz and Jackson.
2019 season
Jackson 17 saves 7 blown saves - 70.8%
Diaz 23 saves 5 blown saves 82%
Diaz since the beginning of the 2017 season
114 saves 14 blown saves 89%
One Met I'm hearing The Braves are looking at is Zack Wheeler...good gosh why ? His ERA is almost 5 and his July ERA is almost 6, I don't see the percentages as being good he'd make the rotation better.
Hmm
Be a good pickup. Wonder what they're asking... 1.18 ERA, 22 saves, 3 blown saves.. Has blown 2 saves recently... Also, he'll be in arbitration year 3 after this season.
Grrene is the name I have been hearing for awhile now
He would be nice no doubt. Felipe Vazquez Pittsburgh would be my preference though. Lefty.
So far so good today. Duvall hit another dinger. Soroka is through 6.
Duvall hit another dinger.
Jeez did he? He got scooped up pretty fast in my Fantasy Baseball league. Didn't have a roster spot for him.
Guy was tearing it up at AAA.
Vasquez would be the big prize, but Greene would be fine by me as well. Vasquez has been exceptional for the past 3 years. He's only allowed more than 2 runs in an outing once total in the 2017, 2018 and 2019 seasons. Greene is a one year wonder. Also we'd control Vasquez 4 years after 2019, we'd control Greene for 1 more season.
WC - I blame Joe Simpson for that. He was the first I ever heard conflate scuffle and struggle. I’m already old! I hate when I hear that used.
Can we all ask **** the mets are doing buying stroman and holding onto assets this year? They have no plan and what they’ve done doesn’t make any sense.
If Luke Jackson blows the save, does he get traded immediately following the game?
